In the month of July our “Dear Asian Youth” chapter has thrived and flourished. We expanded our club by introducing 4 new members. In addition, our first meeting as an expanded club was very successful. With the help of our Social Media Writers we send out posts regarding Asian culture and the beauty behind it on our instagram. (@daychesterfield) This July, our social media writers informed our followers about the Seven Wonders of the World. Including informational statistics and facts about each of the seven wonders. In the month of July, our club also had a very successful lemonade stand. We raised $30 in worth of donations, making a total of $90 of donations to our club. Our goal as a club in the future is to make a ‘Dear Asian Youth’ sponsored scholarship! Upcoming events regarding our club include a Diwali Fundraiser as well as opening a booth at the Harvest Festival. We sell crocheted items, stickers, temporary tattoos and offer services like applying henna. Additionally, our club is working toward selling Indian sweets at a Diwali Fundraiser, which will be on October 26th. We have done many events in the past that have been very successful as well including the Winter Craft Show and the Green Fair. Our club wants to expand and reach a bigger audience and in doing so our future event ideas include partnering with Asian-owned small businesses, planning movie events as well as webinars, and holding events in public spaces like the park/open spaces. Lastly, regarding the month of July we collaborated with a nonprofit started by two of our own members! (@ayumedics) Ayumedics and DAY collaborated together and informed our viewers about ancient medicinal remedies used in Asia. All in all, the month of July has been eventful and we hope to continue to expand our club in the future!
