In the month of September, there have been many significant events that took place which helped us grow as a club as well as financially. We started our month off by holding a booth at the Chesterfield Ganesh Chaturthi event. This nine day event recognizes the birthday of Hindu god: Ganesha. For the first two days our booth offered henna tattoos, glitter tattoos, face paint, crocheted items, as well as bags filled with little goodies. We received a lot of recognition and as a result raised $95 over the span of the two day event. All the money goes to our scholarship regarding the Dear Asian Youth ‘Chesterfield’ chapter. Another significant event that took place in September includes the Financial Literacy Workshop DAY Chesterfield and SSS (scholarly service society) organized. Our club partnered with a local non-profit organization (Scholarly Service Society) as well as Khalsa Financial Care. In doing so, we organized a workshop which helped Asian immigrants as we guide them through the American Financial System. We had 3 sessions in total which were 40 minutes each. This workshop was very successful as we had a good amount of people show up. In the future, we look forward to partnering up with more local non-profit organizations! Lastly, we also held a booth at the Chesterfield Harvest Festival where we offered the same items and services as those in the Ganesh Chaturthi event. We shared a booth with another club (Pediatric Innovation Council). In total, we made $113 from the Harvest Festival. This makes our total income for the club come out to be $298 and 80 cents. With this money we will be able to get a sponsorship spot for this year’s fall school play! In addition, we also will have a $100 scholarship for middle and high school Asians in our community! As a club, we accomplished many of our goals set in the beginning of the year, and look forward to what comes next for our club!
